Serenade of The Stars: A Poem by Vasudha Pansare

Do you remember how we walked
Under the stars listening to
The blissful music of the stars,
Singing the song of our love.
Do you remember the heavenly music?
Do you remember our passion erotic?
Do you remember those starry nights
When we walked along the river, bright with starlight?
Now we are old and wrinkled,
Now our eyes have dimmed,
Do you remember how they twinkled?
Our youth is gone but our hearts are young.
We sit beside the window,
Holding hands, watching the stars,
The stars still serenade for us,
And we will continue to listen.
Even after we leave this earth,
Even after we cross the threshold,
The stars will remain, making music
For other pairs of lovers.
