Andromeda: A poem by Dr. Sudha Subramaniam

A galaxy that stretched to the back of beyond
Hugging my planet within its space;
Dispelling darkness the silver light dawned
Through pathways of stars sewn into place.
Cosmic hemorrhage triggering a starburst
I gazed at the brilliant spew of stardust;
A thousand colors that left me in an amazing daze
To merge into the emptiness of deep dark space;
Skyrocketing meteors danced in orbit
Amongst planets that swung in an elliptical motion.
Starlight traveled through many miles
To cast their twinkling reflection on gazing eyes.
I caught my breath at the stellar sight
Disbelieving the saga of ethereal might.
