The Weight of Unsent Letters

0

A few words that are embedded deep in the heart

Are much better left unsaid, lest they fall apart

They weigh quite heavily, and the mind gets burdened

May not see the light of the day, forever remain buried

Even when scripted and scribbled with care

Fragile on its shoulders, extremely difficult to share

Carefully wrapped in the paper, they remain there

With a constant fear, someone may find it bare

With the passage of time, the ink too fades

The hidden feelings lose their lustre, the memory evades

The paper changes its sheen, though it remains the same

Where to post them, it has lost the address and name

The weight of the unsent letters that are inked stealthily

Is too much to bear, though stored very carefully

At some point in life, when you are charged emotionally

They hold within them those feelings, quite nostalgically
