The Moon And I: A Poem by Vasudha Pansare

Like me, the moon is lonely,
So at night we have silent conversations,
I have told the moon all about you,
Your love, your dreams and your passions.
I have told her about the moonlit nights,
About the music we listened to,
About the wonderful walks
Beside the shining river,
Promising each other eternal love.
I have told her about your silent smiles,
About the warmth in your eyes,
About your tender fingers on my cheeks,
About your wisdom and understanding,
About your sense of fun and love of traveling.
The lonely moon and I,
Talk incessantly about you,
About your faithfulness
And about how your love is true,
I hope you too watch the moon and think about me.
