Terror of War

Peace and brotherhood walked hand in hand

Together in a joyous world

There prevailed serene calmness

Till on them hatred swirled

Physical borders then became

Partitions of beating hearts

Humans abhorring humans

Tearing humanity apart

Wars can never conquer

Pieces of land that remain

Witnessing death, destruction and holocaust

Making frenzied minds insane

Injured, wounded, orphaned and maimed

Survivors are left crying to see

What wrong did they ever do to endure

Such a devastating insanity?
