Like a river
Love flows to me and
I surrender.
Its ethereal beauty lures me, innocently…
Sprinkled by its drops,
Drenched by its lucid, meandering flow,
Entranced by this ethereal experience,
I am consumed by serendipity.
I pray to stay in it forever
Here, I make the mistake —
I forget that love is a river
How can I stop it from flowing,
And keep it with me?
Can I confine it within the walls,
hold it under my possession
using some power and authority?
That is not possible, ever.
This river enticed me,
played around me,
hypnotized me with its ripples.
Bathing me in its paradisiacal elixir
it moved away,
taking a different course…
and I was left behind,
not to mourn, not to feel empty,
rather, full of love, submerged in its tranquillity.
