Love and Betrayal

Roma Rai, her avidity for art was infallible, she was honoured with the best student award for her batch in one of the top fashion schools in Delhi. Rahul, her batchmate, befriended her on the pretext of learning the intricacies of her skills, so that he could also do well in the field. His malicious intentions were so well hidden that they could not be sensed by anyone around.

They started dating each other during college days, with a promise to marry and settle down once their career goals were met.

Roma, after finishing her studies, started her own label- RR with a clear intention of making affordable designer clothes for youth who wish to look their best without hurting their pockets. It became an instant hit as she, being young herself, could easily connect with the needs of the young women. But she had to take financial support from Rahul because he belonged to a wealthy family. The start-up business grew fast and started getting noticed by top-end brands in India and abroad.

They were invited to participate in one of the most prestigious events, which was primarily to showcase budding artists in this field.

RR label was heavily promoted by Rahul as his own brand, assuring the event organisers that Roma was just the designer, and he was the sole proprietor and owner of this label. Though the reality was just the opposite. The label was the brainchild of Roma, she being the main person behind everything- design, creativity, curation, etc. The label, though, had her name/ surname initials; Rahul misused it to his advantage. All this was smartly done, and Roma could not understand his tainted intentions.

When they finally arrived at the event, Roma was shocked to see the damage that had been done. She could never imagine how low Rahul had gone to ensure his supremacy, sidelining her presence.

She had worked with him in good faith, trust, love, and emotional bonding, but was never prepared for this unsettling betrayal. Overwhelmed with all this, she absented herself from the event, citing health concerns and immediately returned.

It was never easy for her to forget the past, but her diligence, intelligence, courage, and determination propelled her to start afresh. She became even more successful with her new venture, as now she had learnt the tricks of the trade, though the harder way.
