And one day she discovered: A poem by Ritu Kamra Kumar

She cut off bits & pieces
That refused to be his wife
An ideal wife walked behind him
In all his struggles&strife

Faith  shaken, confidence  blighted
One day she discovered
They are poles apart,
realized she it is time to walk on a separate path

She knew what went wrong
Her being vocal in his pretending  warmth
Subdued, sublime, she remained  life long
How would he accept her putting a face so strong?

Happy  in her freedom, in her own space
She wished to forgive him& stop the chase
Resolved  to walk with head held high
Shine & rise without a sigh

She left  behind the caravan of chaos & cruelty
The drudgery of dependence & despondency
No more lies to satisfy  his ego & vanity
Refused she to laugh at jokes which hurt her sanity.
