All I Want for Christmas is You: A Poem by Lalita Vaitheeswaran

When Santa comes silently through the chimney

To read my desires in the yuletide hue

The tinkling silver bells and the silvery snowflakes would

Dance to let him know my love for you

The starry azure and the mistletoes

Shall be witness to the togetherness of a vibrant hue

There’ll be a tapestry of fond memories

As wintery nights melt to the morning dew

Soft gentle whispers and sweet nothings

Carols tugging our yearning hearts anew

Passionate embraces which shall live to say

I am incomplete and nothing without you

The season’s breeze that hushes past

Plucking the strings of the heart of lovers true

Amidst the merriment and lights of joyous celebration

All I want for Christmas is you !
