Your ambition will reflect…: A poem by Bhargavi Ravindra

Hers is a story bordering on despair to hope, from rags to riches
A march from dilapidated neighborhood to an upscale complex,

To wipe out the stigma of being a maid’s daughter and then excel
Had to be more than ambitious to make the impossible possible.

Life was an everyday battle and battle it out must she every day
From firewoods to water pots to long walk to school – all the way
To reach the star she had to be firmly grounded – so as to say
She aimed higher and never gave up until she succeeded one day.

Head held high she walked into an arena of great intellectuals
She was invited to address the elite gathering of eminent scholars
She looked all around her in a daze, her eyes brimming with tears
As the world heard in admiration, her march from rags to riches.

Ignite and rekindle, always be passionate about your ambition
Where you want to see yourself – be sure of your destination
Set your goal in life and set out to achieve with determination
Don’t let your aspirations, your dreams just freeze in isolation.

Work must you to better your best -don’t give up or stop at best
Attempts may fail, come what may-don’t give up or fail to attempt
Judged every day, every step of the way-be prepared for the worst
Your journey from past to present to future, your ambition will reflect.
