Wishes

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride,

Riding on a wish have you ever tried?

To go off to a faraway land of enchantment,

A land where all lead a life of contentment?

I wish such a  nook be bestowed on earth,

Where of beautiful hearts there wouldn’t be dearth,

Where scarcity would be a thing unheard,

And sanctity reign supreme in every word.

Now, this wishful thinking must have an end,

For wishes are nothing but a mirage,

As a lone traveller in an infinite desert,

How we yearn an oasis among all this rummage!

It’s better we make a daily wish list,

And send out vibes to the sky above,

To help us make those horses come alive,

Win every war within and thrive!
