ASIAN LITERARY SOCIETY’S WORLD POETRY DAY 2026 CELEBRATION

The Asian Literary Society (ALS) successfully hosted a vibrant virtual celebration on World Poetry Day on Saturday, 21st March 2026, under the evocative title Soul in Stanzas. The event brought together poetry lovers from across the globe for an evening of heartfelt readings, meaningful conversations, and a shared appreciation of poetry as a universal language of emotion, connection, and peace. Distinguished poets who graced the occasion with their powerful verses included: Dr Molly Joseph (noted professor, poet, and author from Kerala), Ms. Vandana Bhasin (author and poet), and Ms. Komal Gupta (author and poet).

The program was gracefully moderated by Mr. Manoj Krishnan, Founder of the Asian Literary Society. Participants enjoyed live poetry recitals and engaging discussions on the enchanting and transformative world of poetry. Adding to the festive spirit, ALS announced the results of its special World Poetry Day 8-Line Poetry Contest themed “Poetry as a Bridge for Peace and Inclusion.” The contest received an overwhelming response with numerous original entries. Heartfelt congratulations to the ten winners: Ankica Anchie Biskupović, Runa Srivastava, Prem Bajaj, Anu Budhrani, Viktorija Stojovska, Anamika Mishra, Manisha Amol, Gul Bakhti, Alekha Prasad Moharana, and Nalini Dinesh.

“Poetry has the unique power to transcend boundaries, heal divides, and build bridges of understanding and inclusion,” said the organizers. “Through Soul in Stanzas, we reaffirmed our commitment to nurturing literary voices and creating a space where every stanza becomes a step toward peace.”

The Asian Literary Society extends its sincere gratitude to the distinguished poets, the contest participants, the moderator, and all attendees who made the evening a memorable tribute to the timeless art of poetry.

Founded by Mr. Manoj Krishnan, the Asian Literary Society is a dynamic global community of thousands of readers, writers, poets, and artists.
