Wilted Flowers

Wilted flowers remind me of human mortality,

They make me aware of life’s brevity,

Like them, we too are here today,

Gone tomorrow, remember that always.

Wilted flowers were once bright and beautiful,

They were once blooming and blissful,

Like we were once young and full of vivacity,

As time passes, we lose our energy and tenacity.

We too are like flowers, we bloom and grow,

And then we fade and wilt tomorrow,

Like them we mingle with the dust,

We pass away but we live and enjoy first.

Wilted flowers tell the story of every living thing,

How each beautiful colorful being,

Loses its beauty and color,

Fades away and crumbles but returns,

And this cycle of birth and death continues forever.
