The Rain Knows: A Poem by Prapti Singh “Pari”

I hope the rain can wash away this pain
This hollow silence, this endless strain.
His cup still waits beside my own,
In a house that’s full, but feels alone.
I wear his shirt on colder days,
Still hear his voice in quiet ways.
The keys he left hang by the door,
But he doesn’t walk in anymore.
I speak to stars he used to name,
The sky above just isn’t the same.
His laughter lingers in the air,
In empty rooms, he’s everywhere.
If tears could build a road so wide,
I’d run to where my love still hides.
But for now, I sit and let it rain —
As if the sky can feel my pain.
