The Poet in Me: A Poem by Shashi Dhar Kumar

There’s a poet in me, quiet and shy,
Whispering words as stars fill the sky.
In the stillness of the night, the verses take flight,
Painting my thoughts in shadows and light.

Through moments of joy, through rivers of pain,
The poet in me weaves songs in the rain.
Where the world may rush, chaotic and loud,
It’s here in my heart the poet is proud.

In silent moments, soft and clear,
The poet in me lingers near.
It weaves through dreams and speaks to skies,
With words that shimmer, yet disguise.

A spark ignites, a story blooms,
A flame that chases shadowed rooms.
The poet lives in every sigh,
In every tear and every high.

For in my soul, both wild and free,
There flows a river, endlessly.
A voice that none can truly see,
Yet, it fills my world, the poet in me.
