The Plea of a Young Girl

Let me be liberated, let me be free

Like zephyr gently caressing  the wild sea

Let me play hide and seek

With the naughty orb before it bleaks

Let me prance on my own tune

Chasing stars amidst sand dunes

Let me retain my space

Dancing through patriarchal norms with grace

Let my steps be fierce and bold

So that I march ahead without do’s and don’ts

Let my soul be aligned in symmetry

With the universe’s cosmic mystery

Let me be both fire and ice

With my twist blazing and misty twirls

Let me be liberated, let me be free

Like zephyr gently caressing the wild sea.
