The Philosophy of Love: A Poem by Shilpa Chakrabarti

Stories, of many in love, (popular or less told),
Have redefined love’s philosophy, for decades;
Like a river, flowing through crevasses, it reaches us
Bringing unto us joy, in beautiful hues and shades.

Relationships may get estranged, but
Love stands untainted, divine and pure;
When love becomes more important than “I” and “you”,
It stands by you through all adversities, for sure.

It doesn’t demand one-sided sacrifices,
Nor does it depend upon contracts or legal bonds;
Just two hearts come together, forever,
And, remain attached by an invisible bond.

Despite the existence of distance,
Love brings people closer….
Weaving a warm cocoon around us,
It promises to stay with us, forever…..
