Rain, Come Soft: A Poem by Concetta Pipia

0

Rain, come soft
and tap the alley,
run the sorrow
through the drain.

Let it fall
on weary skin,
each drop a hush
for where I’ve been.

Let it hush
the aching beat,
sweep the hurt
down every street.

Rain, come down.
Don’t ask why.
Just fall like mercy
from the sky.
