Possessed by fear: A poem by Srivalli Rekha

From the deep dark corners
Spreading tentacles all over
Possessing every tiny inch
Of her mind, body, and soul
Turbulent waves of fear
Drowned her into the void.
A slight tingle at her nape
The mild ruffle of her hair
A gentle jolt from behind;
One after another
Wove a web of uncertainty
Enveloping her in the abyss.
Hours, days, weeks, and months
Splashed and crashed into each other
Dragging and forcing her
To surrender her senses
To become a helpless ragged doll
In the hands of the puppeteer- her fear.
