My Country My Pride: A Poem by Shashi Dhar Kumar

Oh, the land of sunlit plains and mighty hills,
Where rivers weave their hymns in ancient streams,
In thee, a world of wonders does resound,
A masterpiece of nature’s finest arts.

From snow-clad peaks where sacred whispers rise,
To coastal shores where oceans kiss the sand,
Thy vast expanse beneath the boundless skies
Unites all faiths within thy gentle hand.

Each tongue, a melody of truths untold,
A thousand voices, yet one soul resounds.
Through myriad words, thy wisdom, pure as gold,
In every dialect, thy love abounds.

Thy fragrant kitchens brim with rare spices,
Each dish a tale of regions far and near,
From fiery curries to sweet mango’s care,
Thy bounty feeds the world with sincere.

In temples, mosques, and churches do we bow,
Beneath the banyan’s shade, we sit as one.
No creed divides; thy spirit does endow
A unity beneath the rising sun.

Oh, India! Thy beauty knows no bounds,
Thy pulse, the rhythm of a billion hearts.
My soul is thine, for thee my life I gave
My country, my pride, my love, my guide.
