The nine-month-long wait was going to be over
The ambiguity around ‘YOU’ was going to be clear
Wailing in pain, tears flowed, fear gripped my mind
All the while, in ‘Your’ anticipation, my thoughts remained entwined
Hours of labour left me exhausted
But I waited eagerly, feeling excited
Then came the golden moment, when I heard your cries
In that immense pain, too, I felt overjoyed
Laughing through the tears made me scream
‘YOU’ had come into this world, fulfilling my dream
A mother was born, what an absolute divine feeling
Proud to be a woman, motherhood is a blessing
