In His Footsteps: A Journey with My Father: A Poem by Harendra Narayan Singh

0

I walked a path once carved by steadier feet,
Where shadows stretched and sunlight felt complete.
His voice, though hushed, still echoes in the breeze,
A whisper wrapped in wisdom through the trees.
His hands bore calloused truths the world had taught,
Yet gentled mine each time I stumbled, caught.
The stars he named still flicker in my sky,
Guiding me onward, though he sleeps nearby.
In quiet strength, he bore life’s storm and flame,
A silent hero never seeking fame.
His laughter lingers in the autumn air,
And in my doubts, I find his comfort there.
Each step I take, I feel his quiet grace,
A legacy time never can erase.
The shoes I fill may never quite compare,
Yet love has etched his footprints everywhere.
He was my compass, steadfast, ever true,
Now through his steps, I walk the world anew.
