I Know You Care: A Poem by Dr. Guncha Gupta

Oft through stygian times,
When melancholy overcasts most days.
Sapped of warmth and cheer,
When the brumous heart beats with fear.
Such bedimmed a state,
Yet, I feel you care.

The breakbone trials,
Strife is rife.
Happiness, a mirage
Lonely and tough nights.
Life’s tenebrous ways,
Still, I believe you care.

Faith threatens to shatter into sharp shards,
Hope hangs bleak and thin.
When all seems lost,
Love, health, wealth and kin.
I only need look up and pray,
And I know you care.

For, you’ve shown your presence in most mysterious ways.
Awestruck I sing; God! I know you care.’
