While sitting in solitude by the riverside
Looking up at the clouds with watery eyes
As the raindrops fall caressingly on my face
I close my eyes, soft memories to erase
The pearly drops percolate deep in the mud
The rising petrichor heavies my heart with a thud
I can sense your warmth clinging closely
More so your presence, missing your terribly
Every breath of moist air that I inhale
Your thoughts soothe like an evergreen dale
Soaking in the serenade of the wind rustling
The murmurs of your deep voice though hustling
In the crashing, cascading, heavy downpour
Ripping my heart with an emotional outpour
I hope the rain can wash away this pain
It hurts all the more, time and again
As you peep down from the cloudy dark sky
Sheepishly through the rainbow crevice
I stretch out to reach you with my arms wide
The destiny did promulgate a different alibi
