A handful of memories are forever etched on our minds,
Most blur by time, but some just don’t unwind!
Your passionate kiss; that tight hug before we bid goodbye,
Is one such memory that just refuses to die!
It was raining on the day we had parted,
Gloomy and dismal it was when you had departed!
Was that a premonition of what was to come?
Newlyweds ‘call-of-duty’ had left the skies too numb!
A trove of memories which we had lovingly made,
Are now my heartbeat, and with me have faithfully stayed!
I have trudged alone for more than a decade,
During bitter, long nights, they have rushed to my aid!
These memories are all I have of our time together,
To bolster the hazards that I have to daily weather.
Our beautiful moments will last me this lifetime,
Hereafter, you better make up for the lost time!
