Behind Closed Doors: A Poem by Dr. Molly Joseph

Behind closed doors lie
many a muffled voice
struggling hard to contain itself
craving for release
like the poem that chokes the poet
pushing, creativity gushing,
hitting desperate on the  doors
of expression that refuse to open…
no, the closed door is the wall
that denies all entries and exits
fret and fume fills up its narrow confines
since the zest  for freedom beats in vain against the wall…
the closed door holds secrets
vaulted and buried
They stand as dark worlds
where phantoms stalk and
frozen fear pervades…
what if they are smashed open,
these closed doors !
let fresh air exude, and
in transparence so clear
we can see each other and talk
and make a heaven on earth
with love and care for all.
