The barrenness is visible, emptiness it entails
Diluted warmth of the sun rays, no more caresses
The nature loses it’s charm, be it daffodils or roses
The trees relentlessly shedding their crown
In anticipation of new leaves coming out of the cocoon
The birds not chirping, as if being caged
No pleasant melodies, it seems they are dazed
As my heart melts too, at the thought of each new year
Your memories piercing my mind like a spear
Our love was so precious, deep respect for each other
It blossomed more with the growing winter
I can feel your presence in the shy buds
Ready to open up at the slightest nudge
Though lost the opportunity to showcase its bloom
Got dissevered from the stem, faced the doom
I miss you all the more before spring arrives
Reminiscing the promise of togetherness, till we die
