Who or what inspired you to embark on your journey in the field of arts?

I have always been deeply passionate about art since childhood, but the real turning point came during the COVID years. With time to explore my creativity, I found myself drawn back to painting. I was also inspired by Indian artists like Anjolie Ela Menon, whose ability to create expressive and deeply evocative acrylic works motivated me to pursue art professionally.

Have you pursued any formal or professional training in arts, or are you self-taught?

I am a self-taught artist. My learning has been shaped by observation, practice, and experimenting with different styles and techniques. I believe that art is an evolving process, and I continue to refine my skills through constant exploration and study.

What is your practice routine?

I try to maintain a consistent practice by dedicating a few hours daily to painting. My routine includes sketching ideas, experimenting with colors, and working on techniques that help me enhance my style. I also make it a point to observe different forms of art for inspiration.

Who has been your biggest influence or inspiration for your growth in arts?

I find inspiration in the works of many artists, but if I had to name one, it would be Anjolie Ela Menon. Her ability to convey emotions through acrylics and her unique style of layering colors deeply resonate with me. Beyond famous artists, my surroundings, personal experiences, and the stories I want to tell also influence my growth.

How do you approach creating new artwork? Do you follow some personal guidelines?

My creative process begins with an idea or emotion that I want to express. I often start with rough sketches and then build layers with acrylics to bring depth and texture to my work. I follow a few personal guidelines—maintaining harmony in colors, allowing spontaneity in brushwork, and ensuring that my art conveys a feeling or a story.

Which is your preferred medium for art?

Acrylic on canvas is my preferred medium. I love how versatile acrylics are—they dry quickly, allow for layering, and can create both bold and subtle effects. This medium helps me express my ideas with vibrancy and depth.

Tell us about your art goals for this year.

This year, I aim to refine my style further and experiment with new techniques in acrylic painting. I also want to participate in exhibitions and connect with a wider audience. Another goal is to create a series of paintings that reflect my personal artistic journey and inspirations.

What would you advise aspiring artists, especially those who consider themselves too old to start this creative form of expression?

Art has no age limit. Whether you start young or later in life, what truly matters is your passion and dedication. I would encourage aspiring artists to experiment fearlessly, practice consistently, and not compare their journey with others. Creativity is deeply personal, and every artist has a unique voice waiting to be expressed.
