To relive in nature the unfulfilled dream: A poem by Indrani Chatterjee

She watched in tacit the foamy fugacious waves
Rhythmically surging in boisterousness to imbrue her feet,
The twitter of the birds and tremors of the leaves
And nature’s symphonic conflux her only means to breathe

Her implicit urge to reign the realms of seven notes
As her voice cascading like mountainous spring,
Escalating the warble of crescendo in succession
She triumphantly crept in torrid hearts and tugged at every string.

Alas! That imprecate trice, never withered in her mind
When her voice cord was chocked by the excruciating growth,
The surgery only could reprieve her life, immolating her dulcet tone
Now she subsists like a living corpse trailing her beetle life henceforth.

When her agile heart yearns to break through her fortress of solitude
Once more to harken the prosody of Orphean notes mingled in the air,
To relive her unfulfilled dreams in nature’s harmonic beats

As her allayed spirit enlivens in cosmic musical flair.
