The Mischievous Whisperer

1

The stretches of stratus give a call,

Beckon me softly to answer their impending fall,

Farewell they bid to the scorching summer,

Announcing the onset of a bewitching wet weather.

Melting…pitter, patter, pitter patter…

Striking upon the window shed, the frolicking drops of water,

Persuade me to leave, for some time, the daily chores,

And get drenched in their serene magic, cheers galore.

The aqueous drops begin to fall gently

Upon the earth, murmuring mischievously….

Conspiring to wash the dry faces of bushes and trees,

Waking them up with a caress of breeze.

Donning its rich verdant cloak,

Nature shall greet the splendid downpour, dear folks!

Amidst the rhapsody of the cloudburst,

the evening aggravated my thirst

to sink in a melody, steeped in intoxicating petrichor-

The afternoon’s humidity is wrapping itself up, for sure.

The monsoon’s tranquillity has spread in the air,

I feel every particle waltzing in this paradisiacal affair.
