Every time he lovingly smiles
That innocence hidden in his heart
Sparkles clearly in his credulous eyes
To questions tough, he’s quick to respond
Responses cute, filled with sinless pride
He loves everyone around unconditionally
Lending a helping hand, he never minds
Sometimes he acts really childish
Not minding, appearing utterly foolish
But just a warm cosy hug
Is more than enough to calm his unease
He occasionally forgets routine activities
And daily faces a new set of challenges
But still never easily accepts defeat
He might not excel in studies
But his efforts are never reprehensible
And though he doesn’t talk too much
But then, he has also not learnt
The art of framing lies and cooking stories
So, he does what anyone else would do
Chooses the escape route when criticized
He feels comfortable in familiar settings
And feels it’s a task to find new friends
But he’s bold enough to open a discussion
And is normally the last one
To create problems or throw tantrums
And is ever ready to adjust
Even during adverse situations
When hurt or pressurized coercively
His emotions give way to perturbation
His speech then refuses to support him
And as his body badly shivers out of fear
Down his eyes like a waterfall
Flow streams of tears
Desiring just an empathetic gesture
No one’s ever seen him demand anything
Even his quota of love
He doesn’t mind sharing
Whenever reprimanded or ill-treated
He’s never seen complaining
Perhaps he believes in maintaining peace
Or maybe he loves to forget and forgive
He sometimes tries to mimic other kids
Behaves waggishly and does a lot of mischief
Not to hide, there are moments
When he can turn frustratingly aggressive
But after that momentary burst out
He never fails to make up and please
With that never-vanishing smile on his face
It’s just that his growth is a bit delayed
And his brain is somewhat less developed
His muscles are not that powerful
And his grip doesn’t have that hold
He follows others rather than leading
And lacks the logic of problem-solving
He needs help with some daily chores
And badly fears failure
He lacks the enthusiastic zeal
To discover or devise his own hobbies
But still hates being framed as
A copycat or a dependent kid
But he never harms anyone
By his actions or even in words
All he wants is some extra care and love
That too, despite being his moral right
He never demands loudly
Still the world heartlessly shuns him
And after scrutinising him judgementally
Mercilessly calls him
A neurodivergent hopeless kid
