ASIAN LITERARY SOCIETY ORGANIZED ITS 6TH ALS CARAVAN IN JAKARTA, INDONESIA

The Asian Literary Society (ALS), in collaboration with the Jawaharlal Nehru Indian Cultural Centre (JNICC), Embassy of India, Jakarta, successfully organized the 6th ALS Caravan 2026 on Sunday, 10 May 2026, at the Wayang Auditorium, Jakarta.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Manoj Krishnan, Founder of ALS, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting by the dignitaries and a soulful Saraswati Vandana presented by Dr. Shalley Gupta. The program brought together writers, artists, cultural ambassadors, and literature enthusiasts to celebrate the transformative power of art and cross-cultural dialogue.

A major highlight of the event was the panel discussion titled “Weaving Narratives Across Borders: Art, Literature, and the Transformative Power of Cross-Cultural Dialogue.” The discussion featured distinguished speakers including Dr. Sunil Karamchandani, Yoga Guru and Cultural Ambassador; Ewith Bahar; and Pankaj Oberoi, President Director, AMAG. The panel explored themes such as preserving shared civilizational traditions, the role of youth in strengthening India–Indonesia cultural ties, the influence of AI on wellness and cultural practices, and the importance of cross-cultural competence in the corporate world.
The event also marked the release of the ALS 2025 publication and Soul Whispers by Manoj Krishnan. A vibrant Kuchipudi dance performance titled Ganesh Stuti, prepared by Shravanti Ralhan and performed by Harshitha Hariharan, Hashvitha Gorla, Ruthika Reddy Kanala, and Emma Javed, added a rich cultural dimension to the program.

The poetry reading session, moderated by Dr. Sonia Vashishta Oberoi, featured eminent poets and literary voices including Ewith Bahar, Diadjeng Laraswati Hanindyani, Manoj Krishnan, Dr. Sunil Karamchandani, Dr. Sonia Vashishta Oberoi, Shivpriya, Smriti Srivastava, Saraswati Ramesh, Devie Matahari, Yon Bayu Wahyono, and Sihar Ramses. The audience also enjoyed group song performances by Ayu Yulia and Imunk Coyeeh.
The program concluded with the felicitation of poetry contest winners, authors, and artists, followed by a vote of thanks and group photographs.

The 6th ALS Caravan 2026 reaffirmed the Asian Literary Society’s commitment to fostering literary exchange, cultural understanding, and meaningful people-to-people connections across Asia through impactful artistic and social initiatives.
