Returning Home

0

After a few months of marriage, home I was travelling

With emotions, having a sense of belonging.

The very sight of me made my parents happy

To see their little princess turned into a lady.

That night my father came and sat next to me

To ensure, in his trembling voice, whether I was happy.

I told him how things are a little strange

But I am slowly adapting to the change.

I didn’t tell him anything more

But he understood everything for sure.

So, he nicely explained to me

That life will not always be easy.

Good days and bad days will come and go

But never change yourself, though.

Coz I trust you that you will glow

From storms of life, you will learn and grow.

With little compromise and understanding

Peace and happiness to the house you will bring.

Have faith in yourself and never feel lonely

Accept wholeheartedly every person of your family.

The next morning, it was time to return

Back to my new home with a sense of belonging.

I was returning with my father’s teachings

To live my life with his blessings.

In this return journey

Lots of positivity did I carry.

To live with my in-laws happily

In my new home, my new family.
