My Long Wait is Over: A Poem by Staffy Bhateja (Steffi)

0
Life- an instant flash of light between the darkness of the womb and the darkness of the tomb
For the midwife shall become the grave-digger soon
Absurdity at its core,
Nihilist is the force
A tedious, tiring, arduous journey
To find light at the tunnel’s end
To see the cheery, iridescent rainbow in the
sky
To look around for lots of positivity and happiness
To let the radiant colours of Nature fill my life
So that the sight is Divine!
And finally, my long wait is over!
For I now have blessings infinite!
The turbulence in the sea has calmed
Novel beginnings- the hallmark
Healthy body, peaceful mind and happy soul-
Epithets of my being
For I now cherish memories- profound and sweet
Let’s forget the past like an ugly dream!
Been there, seen that, fought that
Now, I repose on my throne like a Queen!
