My Long Wait is Over: A Poem by Shashi Dhar Kumar

0

The skies once grey now blaze with gold,
The stories in my heart unfold,
For days and nights, in dreams, I rove —
At last, my long wait is over.

Each ticking clock, each silent sigh,
Each tear I hid, each whispered why,
Built bridges strong on hope’s clover —
At last, my long wait is over.

The seeds I sowed in barren lands,
Have bloomed with blessings in my hands,
The winds sing sweet, like a faithful lover —
At last, my long wait is over.

The doors, once closed, now open wide,
With open arms, my fears subside,
I step ahead, no need to hover —
At last, my long wait is over.
