Standing all alone at the beach
Trying hard to measure its reach
With the vast expanse of the ocean, I was utterly mesmerised
The astounding magnitude left my imagination pulverised
Thoughts trotting in crests and troughs
Riding the waves of emotion, though very tough
Our love had passed the test of time
At my behest, echoing on cloud nine
Though the togetherness was of a brief sojourn
I still yearn for you like a lovelorn
Today I feel so lonely and forlorn
The sweet journey of soulmates, wearily torn
The depth of our union is still unfathomable
As serene and beautiful as the ocean
I feel the calmness of unwavering thoughts
Joy of our journey, pleasurably so worth
As you bade goodbye on your last voyage
My heart sank into the ocean with anguish, outrage
An unexpected turn of events, life’s fading colour
Feelings drowned suffocatingly, like a devastated sailor
