Unseen Pain: A Poem by Rupal Desai

I rebelled, I opposed…I protested
I yelled ,I cried for help
They made me silent
They hacked me with their long teeth
They twisted me, crushed me.
Unseen pain with scary tears,
And unconscious dumb thoughts…
Unwillingly fought with me,
” Protest…Protect but don’t surrender.”
I promise..I really tried.
I tried with my ragged body,
With my broken bones,
With my scattered soul.
I tried to hang on with my breath,
I just wanted ‘just’.
But …
I became just a story to tell.
Just headlines for the media.
Just a candle to burn.
They just burnt me on a pyre..
With my unseen pain.
