A Mother’s Endurance
“Aniket! Why are you holed up here?”
Mrs. Saklani’s face was stamped with the fear only a mother can possess. Drawing a deep breath, she gave the door a gentle nudge.
The scion of their booming diamond business turned around.
Her favourite ivory Sabyasachi saree adorned his petite frame. The pencil-thin moustache quivered over his MAC stained scarlet lipstick.
The reason for his rejection of the gorgeous girls dawned over her. As a solitary tear trickled down her cheek, she resolved to stand up to Aniket. Even when it came at the cost of another purple bruise from Mr. Saklani.

Make The Cut
As he scrubbed into his sterilized robe and gloves, Jack was apprehensive about the upcoming surgery. His life would be at stake if something went wrong.
A high profile case, the senator’s life was in his hands. He had to think about his family as well. He didn’t want to disappoint his ten-year old Ryan who looked up to him.
“Dad, I’m proud of you! You’re everyone’s lifesaver!” he would say in admiration.
Today, Jack had to choose between the senator and his kidnapped family.
He gingerly picked up the scalpel, ready to make the vital cut…
Family first! Always!

New Destinations
It was midnight. I sat shivering in a lonely corner of the railway station. I shuddered …
Was it the icy wind or the blatant insults heaped on me by shady relations, that made me numb?
This question lingered on in my mourning heart…
******
A kind touch infused my brain with welcome warmth.
“Do you know me?’’ I asked, not willing to look at the benevolent source.
He didn’t answer.

The Boy
A pair of intense gleaming eyes staring at me left me completely dumbfounded. The boy seemed disoriented, dishevelled, huddled at the corner of the big room.
A big man lay on the floor in an unconscious state. There was water all over the place spilled out of a felled glass jar. The naked wire from the broken lamp was dipping into it. Glass pieces strewn everywhere presented a gory atmosphere at the spot.
Cops had arrived amidst a lot of commotion due to the gathered crowd. All fingers pointing at him but I could sense the innocence in his eyes.
