The Trail: A Poem by Ritu Kamra Kumar

The warmth of the sun melted
Magic of tall trees whispered
Green tendrils beckoned me
I couldn’t resist the candid call
Walking in the woods,I took the trail
With vision vivacious and immense faith

In sunny woods, I wandered there
Amid fragrant flowers and heavenly air
Untrodden paths and serene streams
In the ecstasy of my desires and dreams
Lying lazily on green mossy stones
Soft soothing sounds of sparkling foam

I could smell the petrichor, feel the sky
My soul and spirit in felicity flying high
Drowsy with ease and jocund jubilation
Oneness with nature- a celebration
Aww! I left the trail without intruding
In an epiphany with jocular joy exuding

Words of William Wordsworth ‘For there is the spirit in nature
I left the trail as Nature swayed in gentle rapture
