Kooky Ideas Hover Above Me!!: A Poem by Amrita Mallik

Last but not the least, they say,
Finished or unfinished diary of my own,
What will its last page convey?
I ponder upon, again and again, in solitude.
Even if I reach the final one,
Will it mean, I have completely emptied myself?
There’s not a single story remaining in my heart,
Can that be liberating or make me feel hollow?
The diary may grunt of noting down my ordeal,
And, it has hurriedly brought me to the last,
I will start writing again in a fresh one,
And, maybe that one, too, will find me kooky.
Can the last be an invitation to an opening?
Out of the blue, someone will accidentally read it,
And, go to the first page, and read all,
Feeling and understanding me, with thoughtful eyes.
Still bewildered I’m, about the last page,
Does last ever happen? I so very wish.
For heralding a new beginning, a new hope,
And, nurturing the seeds of a fulfilling life.
