Until You Return: A Poem by Vasudha Pansare

The birds will not sing,
The colors of nature
Will be drab and dull,
Until you return.
The sky will lose its brightness,
The sun will become dimmer,
The moon will lose its loveliness,
Until you return.
The waves of the ocean
Are waiting for you,
The leaves of trees will rustle restlessly,
Until you return.
The flowers will not bloom,
The stars will not twinkle,
Spring will not follow winter,
Until you return.
Come and erase the winter in my heart,
Come and make the flowers smile,
I too cannot laugh and be happy,
Until you return.
