Rose And A Butterfly: A Poem by Shashi Dhar Kumar

In the garden’s hush, a rose stands tall,
Draped in blush, as morning’s light falls.
Her petals whisper of love, soft and shy,
Kissed by the dew, a tear from the sky.
A butterfly dances, wings alight,
Drawn to her fragrance, her beauty so bright.
In spirals, he flutters, his heart a song,
Wishing to linger, though the day is long.
The rose, she sways, but rooted she stays,
Her heart is full of longing, though still in her ways.
The butterfly, free, in his fleeting grace,
Pause for a moment, then take to the chase.
A silent romance in nature’s embrace,
Bound by time’s rhythm, by love and by space.
One rooted, one flying, their worlds far apart,
Yet both feel the beat of a single heart.
