My Pluviophile heart: A poem by Priya Washikar

Drizzling drops of divinity
Drenched every winding lane
The parched longing of the Earth
Welcomed the blissful rain

The heavenly petrichor emanated
After a spell of canicular days
My pluviophile heart soaked in the fragrance
Redolent of nature’s mystical ways

Watching their joyful dance
On my misty windowpane
There’s a unique story, I thought
in every little drop of rain

A sudden spell of rainfall
Oh! The petrichor it brings
The true joy of living is in
Life’s smallest of blessings
