It is Your Smile: A Poem by Lalita Vaitheeswaran

When the balls of cotton meander in the sky

When a cool drizzle quenches the earth parched and dry

When the ball of fire rises up on a cold winter day

Giving a surprise to children who want to play

When the breeze swooshes past, holding all in a trance

The tall trees sway to its rhythm and dance

The splash in the puddle as it misty droplets sprays

There occurs an aura of joy in the drudgery of the days

Blossoms and blooms fill the air with fragrance

Chirping feather friends twitter and sing in reverence

The heavenly orb carries the twinkling stars in its embrace

The silvery moon shines atop with princely grace

Gleeful happiness and pure bliss create an aura magical

Oh life! It’s your smile that makes this creation so beautiful!
