Ecstasy: A poem by Supriya Bansal

Ecstasy is a shapeshifter, changing garbs at will
Morphing is her nature, a sliver of her burgeoning skill

She is love incarnate,
When a mother sees her new-born the first time ever
Or a soldier returns to the loving arms after exacting endeavor

She is victory personified
When a seed conquers the constraining mud to spring ‘n sprout
Or you earn your spurs ‘n the naysayers are knocked out

She is the ultimate essence of joy
When a wishful, wistful river, at last, embraces the ocean ‘n loses self within
Or you let a sublime silence reign in your soul, transcending the surrounding din

She is the rhapsody of bliss
When a shriveled, sullen leaf falls of a bough ‘n carried eagerly by the ambrosial wind
Or you give reins to Him, whirlwinds of turmoil don’t scathe you, as you gleam in His tint

Ecstasy is all around you, donning scores of avatars at her whim
Esoteric, enigmatic ‘n obscure, blossoming ‘n booming under a pseudonym
