Come What May!

When dark clouds bestrew and befog my sanity

My demeanor seems confounding, so full of inanity

The days are rainy and nights oozing gloom

And the spaces widen, seemingly shrinking every room

Choose us over the expectations and just let it be

For even in times inopportune, I expect you to stand by me

When you want me to smile and I manage a frown

The burden of reckonings shouldn’t pull us down

I expect you to natter, over your frantic wonted quiet

Getting to grip with how it is, no roses without the briet

Our expectations might not live up to us, so just let it be

For even in arrant disagreements, I expect you to stand by me

The overcast of expectations, might bring wholesome rains

But if unrealized, can lead to disappointment and sheer disdain

One day of unfulfilled anticipation, and one ignorant night

And that one point of dissent, can’t decide our fate, alright!

Let us not lose ourselves under its cumbersome nag

For I expect us to stand by, come what may, and not lose our rag!
